Problem
While enabling Kerberos in a BigInsights cluster, the error "kinit: Password incorrect while getting initial credentials" may be hit. The process of enabling Kerberos on the cluster then fails. And the services will not be able to access HDFS.
Symptom
At the last stage during the process to enable Kerberos on the cluster, the Ambari server will try to start and test services. One of the tasks may fail with an error message like this:
resource_management.core.exceptions.Fail: Execution of '/usr/bin/kinit -kt /etc/security/keytabs/hdfs.headless.keytab hdfs@IBM.COM' returned 1. kinit: Password incorrect while getting initial credentials
