What is the difference between the Sales Model and the Share Model?
Answer
The Sales Model determines how large the entire pie would be for a Demand Group (total sales of all products within the Demand Group). It predicts the volume for the entire Demand Group. Store / DG level.? Additionally, seasonality and trend are applied to the sales model, as well as the CE Matrix.? And inherent cannibalization happens within the demand group level as well.
The Share Model determines how big the slice of the pie is for a given product within the Demand Group.? If total sales for a Demand Group is 100% it will show what percentage of that belongs to each product).? Share Model forecasts volume for each individual product in the Demand Group Store / Product Level model.
