What causes "Licensing Error: Clock Difference too large between client and server"?

Question & Answer

Question

What causes "Licensing Error: Clock Difference too large between client and server"?

Answer

There can be several reasons for it:

.  The system date, time or time zone(TZ) set incorrectly.

·  The files on the system have a newer creation date than the current time on the system.

·  The time zone variable is set incorrectly on those platforms that support it.

Note:

The license manager respects and understands time zones. If the log shows the above error, the server and client workstations may not have the same date or time. They must be in sync with Greenwich Mean Time. Up to four hours difference is allowed between the license server and client machines.
