| Coordinate Extensions | This feature will allow you to convert coordinates from one format to another (for example Lat-Long in decimal into Lat-Long DMS). It also provides tools to perform geographical queries (for example, find all the entities that are within a radius of X km around a point, or inside a rectangle that is defined by 2 opposites corners coordinates). |
| Database Replication (Chargeable) | Replication is the process of copying data from a central iBase database to one or more iBase databases that might be at the same site or at different geographical locations, on the same, or different networks. Click here for more information on the Database Replication feature. |
| GIS Interfaces (Chargeable) | IBM® i2® iBase Geographic Information System Interfaces (GIS) enables you to use GIS mapping applications as part of your data analysis. You can plot entities and links in IBM® i2® iBase databases to maps and then analyze them visually using the analysis tools in the mapping application. The current compatible GIS applications that are supported with iBase are : ArcGis, ArcView 3, Blue8 World, Blue8 XD, MapInfo and MapPoint. Sets and queries can be passed back to iBase for further analysis, and entities and links can be sent to and from IBM® i2® Analyst's Notebook®. Entities and links are plotted on the map using geocode data, in the form of x and y coordinates. Additional data can be sent to the mapping application, and data can be displayed using icons or symbols, and labels. Click here to find more information about the GIS Interfaces feature. |
| Plate Analysis (Chargeable) | IBM® i2® iBase Plate Analysis is a dedicated analysis environment designed to make it easy to manage and analyze Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) data. iBase Plate Analysis is an addition to IBM® i2® iBase so that you also have access to all the powerful functions offered by those products to work with ALPR data and use it in combination with other data stored in your database. It only works with SQL Server batabases. ![]() |
| Tools | iBase comes with 3 tools (click on the names for more info). ![]() - iBase Audit Viewer : This tool will allow you to view and query the iBase Audit. Who connected and when, who modified the DB structure, what query or search was launched by who, and when... - iBase Database Configuration : This tools (for SQL bases only) allows you to manage connections to SQL Server databases, specifically to set the server name, server login name and the use of Windows security. This tools is also needed if you want to migrate the SQL Server to a new one. - iBase Repair Compact : You can use the Repair Compact utility to repair a damaged iBase Microsoft Access database. This utility can also be run from the Tools > Database Administration menu in iBase Designer. |
| Scheduler | iBase Scheduler provides automatic scheduling for data imports into, or exports from, multiple iBase databases on either local or remote machines. iBase Scheduler comprises several distinct components that can be installed and set up in a number of ways to comply with various network and database configurations. |
| Schema Update | Schema changes to an operational database on a server are typically made and tested in a temporary copy of the database before being applied to the operational database itself, as well as to any copies of that database, for example held on laptops. This is a time consuming and error prone process depending on the extent of the changes. You can manage this process more easily by making the changes once and then applying them to the other databases by applying a new database template to each database, using the Update Database Schema command in iBase Designer. This process is only suitable for compatible databases. Click here to find more information about the Schema Update feature. |
| Cyber IP DNS Resolution | IBM i2's Cyber solution, enabling information to be added about Internet Protocol (IP) addresses to facilitate cyber analysis, contains the following key features:
|
| Chart Item Extractor | If you have Analyst's Notebook charts that contain information you would like to store within your iBase database, you can use the Chart Item Extractor to extract the data. This feature is available from the IBM i2 Analyst's Notebook software, in the iBase pane : ![]() |
