Problem

Provides screen captures of the settings for enabling IBM Toolbox for Java traces in various versions of WebSphere.

Resolving The Problem

This document provides screen captures for the generic JVM arguments and data source custom properties settings for various versions of WebSphere. For more information about the values to set for generic JVM arguments and data source properties, see:  The All-In-One Toolbox JDBC Tracing Guide

To guarantee tracing in all cases, the following values can be set up:

  • In Generic JVM Arguments
    -- Dcom.ibm.as400.access.Trace.category=all
    -- Dcom.ibm.as400.access.Trace.file=/home/mydir/ToolboxTrace.txt
    OPTIONAL:
    -- Dcom.ibm.as400.access.ServerTrace.JDBC=126

  • In IBM Toolbox for Java data source custom properties (for ALL toolbox data sources)
    -- toolboxTrace = all
    -- trace = true
    OPTIONAL:
    -- serverTraceCategories = 126
