Feature Pack highlights:
New work basket support that provides flexibility for assigning tasks
- A work basket is a logical entity, which is used to group available tasks into meaningful subsets, based on responsibilities, organizational units, topics, and so on.
- Work baskets provide an alternative method of task assignment enabling indirect task assignment to people through work baskets, rather than directly assigning tasks to people or groups.
- People and groups can collaborate by transferring ("distributing") tasks from one work basket to another work basket until they reach an ultimate work basket destination where they are worked on by the appropriate individual.
- Work baskets allow the definition of distribution paths. Distribution is supported along these pre-defined paths. To react flexibly to unforeseen situations, transferring tasks between arbitrary work baskets is also possible, provided proper authorization.
- Widgets are available in Business Space for creating, updating and deleting work basket definitions, including their access control lists and distribution targets.
Enhanced business categories improve productivity when working with task lists and work baskets
- Business categories can be used to categorize human tasks in task lists and work baskets. They can be assigned either statically (at modeling time) or dynamically (at runtime), for example, using business rules.
- Leveraging these hierarchical business categories, users can efficiently search for and filter tasks, enabling them to quickly and easily locate the desired set of human tasks.
- Rule-based categorization allows for enhanced work management by dynamically creating new business categories and assigning them via dynamically modified business rules.
- Widgets are available in Business Space for creating, updating and deleting business category definitions.
Enhanced support for ad-hoc human tasks enables greater collaboration and process flexibility
- Business users can easily define a free-form task in an ad-hoc way for another user. A WYSIWIG human task and easy to use forms creation editor is provided, as part of the existing business space support for human-centric business processes.
- Using WebSphere Business Monitor together with WebSphere Business Monitor Feature Pack 1 for V7.0 business analysts can discover how business user extend existing business processes ad-hoc with predefined and free-form tasks and deduce potentials for improving the business processes.
