WebSphere Application Server error messages that can be ignored

Troubleshooting

Problem

WebSphere Business Events sometimes logs WebSphere Application Server error messages that can be ignored by the user.

Symptom

The following is a list of error messages that can be ignored if they appear in SystemOut.log:

  • If you are using a WebSphere Business Events cluster and a cluster member starts while events are being processed, you might see the following error in the SystemOut.log of the cluster members that are already running:
[10/06/10 17:13:38:984 BST] 00000060 EventProcesso W BEER5319W: An error occurred processing event: java.lang.IllegalStateException: ObjectGrid [WBEServerGrid] was previously destroyed.

  • [10/06/10 17:13:39:000 BST] 00000076 ObjectGridHel E BEER3143E: An error occurred while dispatching an event to the grid: java.lang.IllegalStateException: ObjectGrid [WBEServerGrid] was previously destroyed.
    and
[10/06/10 17:13:39:328 BST] 00000064 LocalExceptio E CNTR0020E: EJB threw an unexpected (non-declared) exception during invocation of method "onMessage" on bean "BeanId(wberuntimeear#wberuntime.jar#DurableEventReceiver, null)". Exception data: javax.ejb.EJBException: nested exception is: java.lang.Exception: java.lang.IllegalStateException: ObjectGrid [WBEServerGrid] was previously destroyed.
java.lang.Exception: java.lang.IllegalStateException: ObjectGrid [WBEServerGrid] was previously destroyed.
  • When running applications which interact with WebSphere ILOG JRules, you receive:

  • [09/05/10 17:03:23:074 BST] 00000039 WSClassFinder E   WSWS7058E: A JAXBContext could not be created correctly because of the following error: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: junit.framework.TestCase.

Resolving The Problem

For the first symptom, if you see this message and the cluster members are already running, the event will be reprocessed and the message can be ignored.
However, If you see this error at any other time then it might indicate another problem and you should contact IBM support. Also, if a server restarts unexpectedly, investigate to see why this occurred.

For the second symptom, ignore the error messages.
