Troubleshooting

Problem

After establishing SNC connections to SAP systems we always receive the following error message:

RfcException: [AD0|apsgp47x]

message: SNC required for this connection

We have enabled the RFC Trace and in the RFC Trace you can see the following steps, if you try to enable a SNC connection in the SAP Adapter:

- The SAP Adapter creates 3 RfcOpen Tasks.

- The first RfcOpen is via SNC and successful

- The second RfcOpen is a non-SNC connection and not successful

- The third RfcOpen is via SNC and successful (but you will see the third RfcOpen only if the customer SAP System supports SNC and non-SNC connection)

If your customer allows both "non-SNC" and SNC connections everything is ok, but if your customer allows only SNC connections, the second RfcOpen failes with the above mentioned error message and the whole activation of the SAP connection fails.

Why is the second RfcOpen connection a non-SNC connection?

If you enable SNC, every connection should be a SNC connection.
