Troubleshooting
Problem
Whenever we attempt to create a backup using either a UNC (Universal Naming Convention) path, or a mapped drive letter, an error is received from the backup.
In the case of a UNC path, the following error is received:
"Z:\>inoadmin backup CentraSite \\app-soarr-dr1\prod_dr_backups
INODST1781: Start of CentraSite backup processing on Windows
INODSI2271: Backup server 'CentraSite'
INODSE2241: Internal error occurred: DSIF L_TAA4C_BACKUP_SERVER returncode 35 error 1
INODSE2342: No valid location or directory specified
INODSF1436: Terminated with errors"
In the case of a mapped drive the following is seen:
"C:\SoftwareAG\CentraSite\bin>inoadmin backup CentraSite Z:\backup
INODST1781: Start of CentraSite backup processing on Windows
INODSI2271: Backup server 'CentraSite'
INODSI1634: Successful completion
backup key '' (Wed Dec 31 17:00:00 1969)"
The Z drive was mapped to a local directory on the same machine, still no backup was created.
In the CentraSite/jobs directory in the last entry the following is seen:
"2015-12-17 07:32:06 INODSA2278: CentraSite backup processing on Windows
2015-12-17 07:32:06 INODSE2036: Z:\backup is not a valid directory
2015-12-17 07:32:06 INODSE2211: No valid location provided for backup
2015-12-17 07:32:06 INODSF1436: Terminated with errors"
Suspect that you're only able to create backups to local directories, but couldn't find anything in the documentation regarding any restrictions for backup locations.
Is it possible to use a UNC path or mapped drive for a backup location?
