webMethods Knowlegebase : 999 Validation errors (1805458)

Troubleshooting

Problem

Differences in how validation errors are reported in the 999 between webMethods v9.6 and v10.1.

For example, in the 20200224_120419978_837_111111149.DEID.X12_999_1.X12 files:

webMethods v10.1 – HTML Report Error Message:

"Sub-element SV101_07_Description is missing. It is required when procedure code is non-specific (SV101_02_ProcedureCode is V2199)."

webMethods v10.1 - 999 shows the following:

AK2*837*000000009*005010X222A1~

IK3*SV1*114*2400*8~

CTX*CLM01:A37YH556~

IK4*7**I12~

CTX*SITUATIONAL TRIGGER*SV1*114*2400~

IK5*R*I5~

webMethods v9.6 - 999 shows the following:

AK2*837*000000009*005010X222A1~

IK3*SV1*114*2400*8~

CTX*CLM01:A37YH556~

IK4*1:7*352*I9~

CTX*SITUATIONAL TRIGGER*SV1*114**1:2~

IK5*R*I5~

1. IK401 has a value of “7” instead of “1:7”. Both IK401-1 and IK401-2 should be specified since the error relates to the component data element SV101-7.

2. IK403 has a value of “I12” (Implementation Pattern Match Failure) instead of “I9” (Implementation Dependent Data Element Missing).

3. CTX05 in the Element Context CTX segment is empty instead of “1:2”. The situational rules for CTX05 and CTX05-2 apply in this case so both CTX05-1 and CTX05-2 should be specified.
