Problem
According to the Tivoli Maximo Asset Management installation guide, if you are working in Production mode and do not want to be prompted for the Oracle WebLogic Server user name and password when starting the server, you can create a boot.properties file.
If you save the file as boot.properties and locate it in the mydomain folder (for example, C:\BEA\User_projects\domains\mydomain), the server automatically uses this file during its subsequent startup cycles.
However, in some cases, depending on the Oracle Weblogic Server version being used, your boot.properties file may no be recognized, and then you will keep being asked to provide username and password when starting the server.
Example on Weblogic asking for node manager password during startup:
