Troubleshooting
Problem
Attempts to insert an image object into the report results in web server error when using Report Studio in IBM Rational Common Reporting.
Symptom
The full error message is as follows:

Cause
- The images that will be inserted must first be uploaded to the web server and must be .gif or .jpg format.
- Browser button behaviors a bit unclear.
Resolving The Problem
Copy the image file to [Rational Common Reporting Install Path]\AppServer\profiles\RationalInsight\installedApps\sus-or1lin01Node01Cell\IBM Cognos 8.ear\p2pd.war\images. If there is no images directory, you can create it.
Note: The sus-or1lin01Node01Cell portion may be different, depending on what your WebSphere Application Server node name is. Also the images folder may not exist; if so, create it.
Drag the image object from the toolbox into the report and access the image at
http://server:9080/insight/images/xxx.jpg by pasting the URL into Image URL field as below screenshot shows. Please notice that for Rational Reporting for Development Intelligence the URL will be following: http://server:9080/reporting/images/xxx.jpg
Note: The URL is case sensitive.
IMPORTANT: This location can be overwritten when you redeploy the ear file or reinstall Rational Common Reporting. Ensure you keep a backup copy of the images.
