Web GUI Event Dashboard without Java applets

Work has been continuing to remove the dependency of Java applets from Netcool OMNIbus Web GUI 8.1. Our recent focus has been on the Event Dashboard component. A new "lightweight" applet-free version of the Event Dashboard is currently being worked on and should be making its way to an 8.1 fix pack soon.

 

The lightweight Event Dashboard operator view provides functional parity with the applet equivalent and uses the same Scaleable Vector Graphics rendering as the applet free map feature (first introduced in Netcool OMNIbus Web GUI 8.1.0.4). Several improvements have also been included:

  • Theme support
    • One UI
    • One UI Dark
    • IBM Design Language (IDL)
  • Extended tooltip feature
  • Improved accessibility
    • Smooth browser zoom
    • Screen reader friendly SVG
    • Keyboard navigation
