Abstract

This document describes how to use IBM Passport Advantage to download components for IBM Watson Content Analytics Version 3.5.

Download Description

Watson Content Analytics provides a robust interface for exploring unstructured content, enabling the discovery of new insights for better decisions as well as empowering a new class of analytical applications that leverage unstructured content.

IBM Watson Content Analytics:
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, Enterprise, Standard. or Datacenter, 64-bit
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2, Standard or Datacenter, 64-bit

IBM Watson Content Analytics Studio:

  • Microsoft Windows 7, 32-bit and 64-bit
  • Microsoft Windows 8, 32-bit and 64-bit
  • Microsoft Windows 8.1, 32-bit and 64-bit

Space requirements

  • 10 GB of disk space is required to install the software.
  • The disk space requirements for running a content analytics system can vary depending on the number of documents to be crawled, the types of data sources to be crawled, and how documents are parsed, indexed, and queried.

Go to Download package and click the HTTP link to access the IBM Passport Advantage Online Web site. After you log in with your customer information, click the Software download & media access link to download IBM Watson Content Analytics software.

Downloading and assembling the product

  1. Download all of the parts that you need, both required and optional. The parts are described in the following section.
  2. Unpack each of the parts into a single temporary directory on your system.
  3. Follow the Installation instructions to install the product.

Downloadable parts

There are required and optional parts in the IBM Watson Content Analytics Multilingual eAssembly and IBM Watson Content Analytics Starter Pack Multilingual eAssembly. See the tables below for details about what each part contains. At a minimum, you must download the required part. The other parts are optional.

Required part

To install IBM Watson Content Analytics or IBM Watson Content Analytics Starter Pack on the Windows platform, you must download the following part:

IBM Watson Content Analytics 3.5 for Windows and IBM Watson Content Analytics Starter Pack 3.5 for Windows

Contains the core product software.

Optional parts

You can download any of the following parts. Additional WebSphere Application Server images are available for download, but they are not listed here because they are not used by Watson Content Analytics.

Installation Instructions

Follow instructions in the Quick Start Guide to install IBM Watson Content Analytics on a single server, or follow the instructions in Installing the product to set up a distributed server configuration. See the Release Notes to learn about known issues before you start the installation program.

Download Package

On the Passport Advantage Online Web site, all entitled products are listed on the Software Download and Media Access page. This page provides a guided process for selecting an operating system and the product version that you want to download.

Before you download software, you might want to visit the Passport Advantage Online Help Center and view the Software download and media access tutorial (about 10 minutes). This tutorial shows you how to use Passport Advantage, including how to set preferences, such as the download method and your preferred products, operating system, and language.

When you are ready to download the software:

  1. Click the HTTP link to go to the Passport Advantage Online Web site.
  2. Sign in with your IBM ID and password. If you have not yet registered, follow the prompts to request access.
  3. Click Software download and media access.
  4. If you are licensed for more than one product, select the program offering that you want to download.
  5. Agree to the license terms.
  6. Optional: Set your download preferences. For example, you can register to receive e-mail notification when product updates become available.
  7. Click Download finder to see a list of available products. Follow the online prompts to select and download product software for IBM Watson Content Analytics.
