Viewing current traffic conditions

Use the Operator: Traffic viewto monitor the current traffic conditions and performance of the transportationnetwork.

The traffic management feature of the IBM? Traffic Information Hub includes the abilityto monitor the latest traffic flow and performance of a city or region.The Operator: Traffic viewdisplays the latest traffic data collected from field subsystemsin the traffic network including information about events devicesand service levels.

You can also view a summary of the current traffic conditions dataon a graph report. For information about how to run and view the reportsthat are available in the solution see the related links at the endof this topic.

  • Selecting traffic information to show on the map
    From the map in the Current Traffic Conditions portletyou can choose the traffic information you would like to display onthe map and in the list in the Traffic Conditions - Details portlet.
  • Selecting traffic information to show in the list
    The lists in the Traffic Conditions - Details portletare populated based on your choices of service levels devices andevents in the selection form in the Current Traffic Conditions portlet.
  • Viewing CCTV traffic device information
    From the map on the Current Traffic Conditions portletyou can view recent closed circuit television (CCTV) traffic deviceinformation collected by the IBM Traffic Information Hub from field subsystemsin the traffic network. IBM Intelligent Transportation displays trafficdevice properties including a link to the CCTV image provided by themost recent TMDD data collection.
  • Adding traffic layers
    Your IBM Intelligent Transportation IT administratorconfigures the predefined layers of traffic data that are displayedby default on the map in the Current Traffic Conditions portlet.You can also choose the traffic information you would like to displayon the map. Additionally you can create custom traffic layers thatonly you can see.
