Activity log:
ANR0836W No query restore processing session xxx failed to retrieve file xxx - file being skipped.
Client error log:
ANS4988W File xxx is currently unavailable on server and has been skipped.
Data was not available on server and was skipped.
The Tivoli Storage Manager database can have references of active objects that were backed up to Tivoli Storage Manager after a BAckup STGpool process has completed. To verify if the Copy Pool is in sync with the Primary Pool, perform the following select and confirm that all Primary Pools (files) add up to the Copy Pool that was used in the BAckup STGpool command:
select stgpool_name, sum(num_files) as "Number of files" from occupancy group by stgpool_name
Example of not having all the needed files in the copypool:
STGPOOL_NAME Number of files
------------------ ----------------
COPYSTGPOOL 312351
FILEPOOL 329979
If a DB backup was completed with the above, out of sync pools, then some of the client data will not be available . (If this DB is restored and used to restore client data).
Example after backup stgpool has completed:
STGPOOL_NAME Number of files
------------------ ----------------
COPYSTGPOOL 329979
FILEPOOL 329979
As the copypool now matches the primary storage pool, a DB backup with the storage pools in sync, will now have all the needed references to restore the expected client data.
Refer to the Tivoli Storage Manager Administrator's Guide for steps of when/how to do Backup stgpool, Backup DB and Prepare (recovery plan).
