VBScript run in InfoSphere DataStage cannot access Microsoft Excel file

Troubleshooting

Problem

A VBScript working fine in Windows CMD window fails with "ADODB. Connection: Provider cannot be found. It may not be properly installed" error in DataStage.

Symptom

Developed a VBScript to process an Excel file, and verified it's working fine in CMD window using cscript.exe command. Then ran the same cscript command in DataStage Before-job subroutine or Execute Command Activity, this time it failed with next error.
