Troubleshooting
Problem
A storage administrator may want to use the TS7700 Management Interface (MI) to see the version of code installed on a cluster, or to determine the machine type/model/serial of a cluster.
Resolving The Problem
The best way for a TS7700 MI user to determine the installed code version is:
- Log into the MI on the specific cluster you want to check.
- At the top right corner of the screen is a 'question mark' icon. This is the help icon.
- Click on the 'question mark'. A pulldown menu will display.
- On the pulldown menu, click on 'About'. The About screen will display with the following info:
- Cluster Name. This is a customer-specified name and the distributed library ID. Example: BMO #10384
- Code Version. Example: 8.40.2.12
- Model . This is actually the IBM 4-digit machine type and 3-digit model. Example: 3957V07
- Hardware Serial Number. This is the IBM 5-digit serial number. Example: H6785
