Question & Answer
Question
When using CICS Transaction Server for z/OS (CICS TS) and constructing an outbound Web Services requestor, how do you direct the connection through a proxy server? Can the HTTPPROXY parameter of the DFHWS2LS utility be used for this?
Answer
Use the XWBOPEN exit to provide the proxy details for the outbound Web Services request. The exit is driven whenever the Web domain is called to open a new connection. The CICS Web Services support uses the Web domain to provide the HTTP transport capabilities.
The HTTPPROXY parameter used by DFHWS2LS utility is only for use when the utility runs and needs to obtain the remote schema and WSDL documents from a proxy server.
