Using pacparser to parse Proxy Auto-Configuration files

Abstract

In order to use pacparser in IBM Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel, you need to add a JSON file to your Office Connection folder.

To use pacparser in IBM Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel, perform the following:

  1. Open notepad or a similar text editor.
  2. Enter the following into the editor:
    {
    "AutoConfigURL": "<local, network or web address of the pac file>",
    "PacParser": "<local path where pacparser is installed>"
    }
    
    Example:
    {
    "AutoConfigURL": "C:\proxyPath\proxy.pac",
    "PacParser": "C:\pacparser\pacparser-1.3.1-win32"
    }
    
  3. Save the file as pacparser.json.
  4. Move the pacparser.json file to C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Cognos\Office Connection\.
