What Is A Widget

A widget is a customizable panel on IBM Technology Zone that presents content from the site. It is made to be easy for users to access key places onto their homepage.

How To Setup Dashboard As Homepage

To setup the Widget Dashboard as your Homepage:

1. Click your profile picture in the top right corner and click "Profile"

2. Under "Default Homepage", select dashboard.

3. Once selected, click "IBM Technology Zone" in the top left, and changes will automatically be made.

What Widgets Are On My Homepage:

Featured: Displays Platinum collections, Activation Kits, and highlights featured collections found on IBM Technology Zone based on users content preferences.

Recommended: Displays recommended collections based on users content preferences.

Top Rated: Displays collections that have been highly rated based on users content preferences.

Just Added: Displays collections, resources, and environments that have been recently added based on users content preferences.

Favorites: Displays users favorited collections. This widget does not take into account a users content preferences.

Bookmarks: Displays users bookmarked searches. This widget does not take into account a users content preferences.

Get Started: Displays cards for learning the foundations of understanding and using IBM Technology Zone.

How To Edit A Widget

To edit a widget:

1. Click the edit icon
2. Use the 4 arrow icon to drag your widgets, placing them in your preferred order.
3. To resize, use the 2 chevrons by clicking and dragging them.
4. To edit a specific widget, click the pencil icon, and you can change the name, layout, and limit as needed.

Note: Ensure you click save, cancel, or delete after any changes.

How To Add A Widget

To add a widget:

1. Click the add widget icon.
2. Click the "+" button on the list of available widgets that can be added.

3. Newly added widgets will be automatically added at the top of the dashboard.

How To Delete A Widget

To delete a Widget:

1. Click on the trash icon beside the widget.

2. A delete confirmation will pop up.
3. Type confirm and click delete.

Note: At this time, the "Get Started widget" cannot be removed.
