Using GO DISKTASKS Option 1 and 2

Troubleshooting

Problem

This document discusses using GO DISKTASKS Option 1 and 2

Resolving The Problem

This document discusses using GO DISKTASKS Option 1 and 2.

Where do GO DISKTASKS Options 1 and 2 run, and how does it work?

Option 1 invokes the RTVDSKINF CL command and the option to PRTDSKINF. RTVDSKINF gathers the DISK information and places it in QUSRSYS/QAEZDISK--member QCURRENT. This member is not refreshed until the next time Option 1 - RTVDSKINF is run again.

The scheduled job names are QEZDKSPDT and QEZDKWKMTH, which are submitted to JOBQ QSYSNOMAX. Usually, the subsystem QSYSWRK jobs runs under profile QPGMR. The job description is QEZDISKINF.

A good report to look at is the System Summary Report. That is an option selected for PRTDSKINF. This report is also a part of any PRTDSKINF report. This report gives an overall breakdown of categories for disk space used.

For the menu options to be available, the user is required to have a *SECOFR user class. To use the options, the user must have *ALLOBJ special authority to use Option 1 and must have *USE authority to both the PRTDSKINF command and the QUSRSYS/QAEZDISK file to use Option 2.
