Using F13 through F24 in VT100 Terminal (DOS)

Troubleshooting

Problem

This document explains how to use the F13 through F24 keys in the event that 5250 Emulation fails but Command Prompt Telnet works.

Resolving The Problem

This document explains how to use the F13 through F24 keys in the event that 5250 Emulation fails but Command Prompt Telnet works.

To access the F13 through F24 keys in a Command Prompt Telnet (VT100) session, press and release the ESC key and hold down the shift key, plus the number key you want.

For example:

To use F13 on the screen below, press and release the ESC key, then SHIFT+1 key (12+1=13):

For F14, press and release the ESC key, then SHIFT+2 key.

So F13 through F24 would be ESC (press and release) SHIFT+(1 through +). NOTE: F22, F23, F24 would use the 0, -, +  keys respectively.
