Using the custom file splitter class in WebSphere Adapter for FTP

Troubleshooting


Problem

While using the custom file splitter class, if the SplittingFunctionClassName parameter is not set in the classpath of the FTP adapter, the adapter returns the following exception: "javax.resource.spi.InvalidPropertyException: Error while validating ActivationSpec properties, SplittingFunctionClassName".

Symptom

"javax.resource.spi.InvalidPropertyException: Error while validating ActivationSpec properties, SplittingFunctionClassName" exception is returned.

Cause

This exception error is thrown because the SplittingFunctionClassName is not set in the classpath of the FTP adapter.

Resolving The Problem

Following are the steps to set the SplittingFunctionClassName in the class path of the FTP adapter.

1. In the left pane of the WebSphere Process Server Administrative console, select Resources > Resource Adapters > Resource adapters.

2. Select IBM WebSphere Adapter for FTP from Resource adapters.

3. In the Class path field, type the path of the custom splitter class name.

4. Click Apply to save the changes.
