User roles that are required to access tools
Answer
The tools that are available in the Watson Experience Manager depend on the user role that is assigned for the user. The administrator of Experience Manager defines the user roles for a user.? A user can have multiple roles and can access only the tools and areas that apply to the roles they are assigned.? When you click on a tool that you do not have access to you receive a message to contact your administrator.

Watson Experience Manager contains the following tools:
Corpus Management
Expert Training
System Administration
Configuration
You must have access to the System Administration tool to access and modify the user roles that are assigned to a user.
?To assign a user role to a user:
1. In Watson Experience Manager go to the System Administration tool.
2. Click the User Role Administration tab.
3. Click the pencil icon in the Action column to change the roles assigned to a user.? Use a comma to separate roles when you add multiple roles.?
The following table shows the tools that are available based on the user roles:

| Corpus Management | CORPUS_MANAGER | Can create a corpus and deploy it to test. Can view information and reports about a version of the corpus. Can test Watson. |
| CORPUS_UPLOADER | Can upload and delete content in the Corpus management tool. | |
| Configuration | UX_CONFIGURATION_USER | Can access the Configuration tool and customize Watson. Can test Watson. |
| CUSTOMER_ADMIN | Can access the Configuration tool and customize Watson. Can assign user roles and generate usage reports in the System administration tool. Can test Watson. | |

| Expert Training | GTT_APPROVER | Can review approve reject questions and associated answers in the Expert training tool. Can create questions and associate answers. |
| GTT_APPROVER_EXT | Can reassign questions to different user IDs in the Expert training tool. Can also create questions and associate answers and can review approve reject questions and associated answers. | |
| GTT_AUTHOR | Can create questions and associate answers in the Expert training tool. | |
| GTT_END_USER | Can create questions in the Question input tool. NOTE: Users assigned this role can access only this tool even if they have other roles that are assigned to their user ID. | |
LAB_SERVICES | IBM administrator role. | |
SYSTEM_ADMIN | IBM operations role. |
