User-Defined Function (UDF) and Single-Threaded Jobs

Troubleshooting

Problem

This document discusses errors that can occur when running an SQL statement with a user-defined function (UDF) in a single-threaded job.

Resolving The Problem

The following errors can occur when running a SQL statement with using a user-defined function (UDF). The UDF may also be part of a view. Some system views were changed to be run in a separate thread at R610. The following messages can occur if the job is not a multi-threaded job:

o Message CPD000D
o Message SQL0443
o Message CPF503E

Use DSPSYSVAL QMLTTHDACN to see if the machine is configured as Option 3. If it is, this must be changed to Option 2.
