Question & Answer
Question
Maximo Application Suite uses the IBM Data Reporter Operator to monitor license metrics, and regularly uploads data to IBM servers to ensure license compliance. However, in an airgapped (offline) environment, this automated upload is no longer possible.
How can you export and upload DRO data manually to ensure compliance with IBM licensing?
Answer
For airgapped environments, we recommend using the Data Collection CLI (datactl) to extract usage data and upload it to to IBM Software Central. For more information, please refer to the Data Collection CLI documentation.
Please note the upload of license usage data is mandatory per the Maximo Application Suite license usage agreement. When automated reporting is disabled (such as in airgap environments), this data must be provided monthly and no later than 10 business days after the end of each calendar month. For more information, please refer to the Maximo Application Suite License Terms.
