Question
Upgrading to IBM Maximo MRO Inventory Optimization - What to Expect
Answer
Below are some things to consider when moving from OAS to IBM Maximo MRO Inventory Optimization
| Bi-Weekly Upgrades | Customers on IBM Maximo MRO Inventory Optimization will be upgraded Bi-weekly. This results in minimal to no outage, but it is not possible for IBM Maximo MRO Inventory Optimization customers to opt-out of upgrades. |
| Single Sign-On | If a customer already has SSO configured for OAS, they will require SSO for the IBM Maximo MRO Inventory Optimization platform as well. This is because the new web based platform uses a different authentication service. If a customer does not have SSO configured for OAS, they do not need SSO configured for IBM Maximo MRO Inventory Optimization. SSO is recommended as it allows customers to control their own security and improves user adoption as users do not need to know their password. |
| Browser Compatibility | Customers on IBM Maximo MRO Inventory Optimization must use IE11+, Chrome, or Firefox. |
| Access | IBM Maximo MRO Inventory Optimization is accessed using browser over HTTPS. Customers will need to be able to access *.myoniqua.com and *.oniqua.com over port 80 and 443. |
| FTP | Customers using IBM's FTP server are recommended to upgrade to IBM's new FTP service. This is not a mandatory step but is recommended. |
| New Reporting Platform | IBM Maximo MRO Inventory Optimization does not support Business Objects (BOXI). If a customer has custom reports they wish to keep, these will need to be converted. |
