Updating the JDBC driver on WebSphere Process Server for JDBC Adapter, while connecting to a database using the JNDI datasource

Question & Answer

Question

How do I update the JDBC driver on IBM WebSphere Process Server for JDBC adapter, while connecting to a database using the JNDI datasource? Here the JDBC drivers are to be updated on the runtime server before adding them into the IBM WebSphere Integration Developer.

Answer

To update the JDBC driver file for the JDBC adapter, follow these steps:

1. Logon to the WebSphere Process Server administrative console by providing the login credentials and click "Log in".

2. Click Environment --> Select "WebSphere variables" under administrative console.

3. Click the corresponding database JDBC driver variable. In the current example, database is Oracle, and therefore the WebSphere variable is "ORACLE_JDBC_DRIVER_PATH".

4. Change the value of the WebSphere variable you want to update, to the driver path, and then click Apply.
