Updating the HMC from Version 7.3.1 to Version 7.3.2

Problem

This document describes how to update the HMC from Version 7.3.1 (7.3.1.0) to Version 7.3.2 (7.3.2.0).

Resolving The Problem

Notes:

1	IBM POWER5 servers must have server firmware at SF240_299 or later to run HMC Version 7.3.1.0 or later. Click here for more information.
2	Ensure a current backup of critical console data has been performed.

Do the following to install the 7.3.2.0 update and required maintenance:

Step 1: Download the Version 7.3.2.0 updates HMC_Update_V7R320_1.iso and HMC_Update_V7R320_2.iso.

Step 2: Burn .isos from Step 1 (above) to separate CD-Rs.

Step 3: Follow these instructions: http://www14.software.ibm.com/webapp/set2/sas/f/hmc/power6/install/v7320.Update_CD.html

Do the following to install the Version 7.3.2.0 corrective service fixes: Step 1: Download corrective service fix MH01084.iso and MH01101.iso.
Step 2: Burn MH01084 and MH01101 to separate CD-Rs.
Step 3: Apply MH01084, then MH01101 in Step 4.

Do the following to install the 7.3.2.0 update and required maintenance:

Step 1: Obtain the 7.3.2.0 update MH01060.

Step 2: Follow these instructions: http://www14.software.ibm.com/webapp/set2/sas/f/hmc/power6/install/v7320.Update_CD.html

Do the following to install the 7.3.2.0 corrective service fixes: Step 1: Obtain corrective service fixes MH01084 and MH01101. Step 2: Apply MH01084, then MH01101 in Step 3.
