Unpacking a database results in " invalid compressed data--format violated" error

Troubleshooting


Problem

Attempts to unpack an IBM Rational Synergy database results in the error "Error exit delayed from previous errors".

Symptom

A compressed file (called a packfile) of IBM Rational Synergy packfile contains file system portion of the database and IBM Informix portion of the database.

Attempts to unpack the database by initiating the ccmdb unpack command result in failure with error.

The full error message is as follows:

UnPacking Database /database_path/database from /packfile_path/database.cpk

Extracting .cpk file...

funzip error: invalid compressed data--format violated

./st_root/cache/source/#99/99999: Truncated tar archive

bsdtar: Error exit delayed from previous errors.

extract failed.

Dropping database //server/database...

Removing /database_path/database...

/database_path/database/db dropped!
