About this task

As a Sterling TMS administratoryou can reset the password if a user has been locked out of the system.

Forexample:

  • You specified that the system lock out the user after he or shetried to log on to Sterling TMS fourtimes unsuccessfully.
  • You set the Unlock option to No onthe Password Policy page.

To unlock a user account follow these steps.

Procedure

  1. The user needs to contact you to request this change. Youdo not receive any notification from Sterling TMS when a useris locked out of the system.
  2. Log on to Sterling TMS and open theSet Up Users step of Configuration.
  3. Select the user and click Edit.The Edit User page opens and the New Password fieldis empty.
  4. You can use the Last Logon Date fieldto see when the user last logged on to Sterling TMS correctly.
  5. Type in the new password and then enter it again to confirmthe change. The new password must conform to your organization's passwordrequirements.
  6. As an option you can set Force Password Changeon Next Logon to Yes. When theuser logs on to Sterling TMShe or she is prompted to change the new password.
  7. Click Save to store your user profilechanges and return to the Set Up Users page.
  8. Contact your user and notify the user about the new password.The user does not receive any notification from Sterling TMS about thenew password.
