On Unix and Linux platforrms, db2diag.log and DB2 notify log file permissions are writable for all users

Question & Answer

Question

The file permissions on the DB2 diagnostic log (db2diag.log), and the notify log (instancename.nfy), by default are -rw-rw-rw- (666) on Linux and Unix platforms. This permits any program or user to write to these files. Is it permitted to change the permissions on these files?
