Uninstalling the solution

You can uninstall the IBM? Traffic Information Hub by running the uninstallationscript from the command line. The uninstallation script removes the IBM Traffic Information Hub and all data fromthe underlying IBM Intelligent Operations Center environment.

Before you begin

If the transportation prediction featureis installed in the environment you must first uninstall the transportation prediction feature before youcan uninstall the IBM Traffic Information Hub.See the related topic link at the end of this topic.

Topreserve the IBM Traffic Information Hub datalog on to the IBM Intelligent Operations Center andcopy the TIH_HS and TIH_OP databasesbefore uninstalling the solution.

All of the IBM Intelligent Operations Center server componentsmust be running during the uninstallation of the IBM Traffic Information Hub. Some of the IBM Intelligent Operations Center services are automaticallyrestarted by the uninstaller. To avoid a disruption in service itis recommended that users of the IBM Intelligent Operations Center do not access thesystem during the uninstallation.

About this task

By default all IBM Traffic Information Hub data and programfiles are removed from the IBM Intelligent Operations Center servers that the IBM Traffic Information Hub is running on.

Procedure
  1. Log on to the IBM Intelligent Operations Center event and management server asthe root user.
  2. From the command line create a temporary directory toextract the uninstall program for example /tmp/TIH_Uninstaller.
    Note: The temporary directory must be located outside of themain program directory structure specified in the next step as the intelligentTransportation folderis deleted during the uninstallation.
  3. From the command line open the following directory:
    /opt/IBM/iss/intelligentTransportation/trafficInformationHub/uninstall
  4. Copy the trafficInformationHubUninstaller.tar.gz fileinto the temporary directory that you created in step 2. For example /tmp/TIH_Uninstaller.
  5. Open the temporary directory and extract the trafficInformationHubUninstaller.tar.gz fileby using the following commands:
    tar -zxvf trafficInformationHubUninstaller.tar.gz
  6. Optional: If a previous uninstallation failedprior to rerunning the uninstallation script edit the install.properties fileto force the utility to skip the steps that were successfully completedon the previous attempt. Otherwise the rerun of the uninstallationutility might fail. For more information see the relatedlink at the end of this topic.
  7. Start the uninstallation of the IBM Traffic Information Hub by running the followingcommand:
    ./uninstall.sh icpadminaccount password

    Where icpadminaccount and password arethe account credentials for the IBM Intelligent Operations Center administrator thatwas defined when the IBM Intelligent Operations Center wasdeployed.

    The progress of the uninstallationis reported in the command-line window. When the uninstallation completesthe message Uninstallation completed! isdisplayed if the uninstallation was successful. If the uninstallationfails the uninstaller displays details of what steps failed and thelog file to investigate for further information.

Results

The IBM Traffic Information Hubis removed from the underlying IBM Intelligent Operations Center environment. The IBM Traffic Information Hub program files anddatabase are deleted. The Intelligent Transportation linkis no longer visible in the navigation bar of the IBM Intelligent Operations Center portal.
