Uninstallation issue with Datacap Interim Fixes

Abstract

The below listed Datacap Interim fixes are uninstallable patches. This is due to the addition of third party DLL in the OCRS component.

Content

When you install an interim fix patch on top of Datacap base and later try to uninstall it, it is found to be un-installable. If you must uninstall, then you need to uninstall the whole Datacap setup and then repeat the installation.

This is applicable for the following Datacap Interim fixes:

  • 9.1.3 Interim Fix 008
  • 9.1.5 Interim Fix 001
  • 9.1.4 Interim Fix 005
  • 9.1.4 Interim Fix 006
  • 9.1.6 Interim Fix 001
  • 9.1.5 Interim Fix 004

This issue exists as there is an addition of “IproPlus.dll”, a third party DLL, which is added to the OCRS component as a customer fix. OCRS engine updates one of their DLLs which removes registry and creates a new registry in Class table. This prevents the uninstallation.

Since, it is a third party DLL, you cannot control it, once added. Hence, the patch is uninstallable.
