Problem

A Unicode Byte Order Mark (BOM) might be appearing at the beginning of XML data in DB2 LUW that is handled by DB2 Connector for IBM InfoSphere Information Server, Version 8.1. This error occurs on XML data with a column of SQL type NChar, NVarChar. or LongNVarChar.

Symptom

A Unicode Byte Order Mark (BOM) is shown as ? and cannot be handled as valid XML data.
