Unexpected Timeout when using Multiple Concurrent Browser Sessions

Troubleshooting

Problem

When using Multiple Concurrent Browser Sessions, if any session has been inactive for longer than the inactivity timeout, it will timeout even if other sessions remain in active use .

Symptom

Assuming that session-timeout in
[maximo root]/applications/maximo/maximouiweb/webmodule/WEB-INF/web.xml is to the default (30 minutes)

1) Log in to Maximo (call this session A) at time T.

2) Open another tab in the same browser and navigate to <host>:<port>/maximo. Another Maximo session opens without the need to log on again. Call this Session B.

3) Continue working in Session B

5) At T + 30 minutes Session B can continue to be used, however Session A will timeout and present this message

Click on Return in the above will return Session A to the Start Center
