Troubleshooting
Problem
After installing an Industry Solution, Add-On, Feature Pack or Interim Fix with IBM Installation Manager and using Tivoli's Process Automation Engine Configuration Tool (Config Tool), Application Server Security may be enabled and (Maximo 7.6 or later) the default skin changed to NULL. This occurs after completing Configuration Tool tasks (and updating the maximo.ear and maximo-x.war) and starting up web application server.
Symptom
The first and second symptoms occur in an environment where Application Server Security is not enabled and the default skin (in Maximo 7.6 or later) is set to iot18 or tivoli13. The second symptom occurs in an environment where Application Server Security is enabled and only the default skin (in Maximo 7.6 or later) is set to iot18 or tivoli13.
Symptom 1: cannot log into Maximo. Error message displayed is

BMXAA0026E - The action could not be performed because the application server security is enabled. Proper authorization is required to perform this action. Report this error to your system administrator.Symptom 2. After logging into Maximo, the interface skin is the "old" (tivoli09) skin, first used in Maximo 7.5:
