Unable to terminate an application in "Connect Completed"

Troubleshooting

Problem

Attempting to terminate an application in "Connect Completed" has no effect by using FORCE APPLICATION command.

Symptom

- The following application can be identified from snapshot, db2pd or list applications command:

$ db2 get snapshot for application agentid 19631
Application handle                         = 19631
Application status                         = Connect Completed
...
Application name                           = db2fw3
...

- FORCE APPLICATION has been issued:

$ db2 force application "(19631)"
DB20000I  The FORCE APPLICATION command completed successfully.
DB21024I  This command is asynchronous and may not be effective immediately.

- However the application persists:
$ db2 list applications show detail
