Problem
Failure in establishing outbound Web Services connection after setting External System ENDPOINTURL to an HTTPS URL.
Symptom
Using Web Services to send data to an External System, when setting HTTPS in the ENDPOINTURL of the Integration Framework, you receive this error when sending the data:
psdi.util.MXSystemException: BMXAA1481E - Could not send. javax.net.ssl.SSLException: Unrecognized SSL message, plaintext connection?;
Tracing the connection using a network tracing tool you will notice the outbound connections are being attempted over port 80 not port 443
