Unable to schedule reports in UNIX environment: DPR-ERR-2059

Troubleshooting


Problem

In a UNIX IBM Cognos ReportNet environment, scheduling reports suddenly stops working. When attempting to modify/change the schedule for a report, users get a DPR-ERR-2059 error message in their browser. Looking in crnserver.log, error messages are being thrown when ReportNet is trying to initialize the Job Scheduling and Monitoring service. In Server Administration the Job Scheduling and Monitoring service shows as Started, but if you try to stop/restart it the operation comes back with a status of Failed.
