'Unable to retrieve user information required to create account proxy object for the object "::Anonymous"' when trying to start Cognos service

Troubleshooting


Problem

Customer has created a brand-new Controller system. Administrator tries to start the IBM Cognos service for the first time. An error appears.

Symptom

When launching the service inside Cognos Configuration:

11:38:08, CM-CFG-5064 A Content Manager configuration error was detected while creating the initial content objects. CM-REQ-4332 Unable to create security object proxy. Unable to retrieve user information required to create account proxy object for the object "::Anonymous".
11:38:10, 'ContentManager', 'getActiveContentManager', 'Failure'.
DPR-CMI-4006 Unable to determine the active Content Manager. Will retry periodically.
11:38:10, 'com.cognos.pogo.contentmanager.coordinator.ActiveCMControl', 'pogo', 'Failure'.
DPR-DPR-1035 Dispatcher detected an error.

DPR-DPR-1035 Dispatcher detected an error.
<...>

[Start Service]
[ ERROR ] CFG-ERR-0103 Unable to start IBM Cognos service.
Execution of the external process returns an error code value of '-1'.

Error when launching Cognos Connection:



IBM Cognos Business Intelligence
The IBM Cognos gateway is unable to connect to the IBM Cognos BI server. The server may be unavailable or the gateway may not be correctly configured.
Try again or contact your administrator.
