Problem
In FileNet Content Engine FileNet Enterprise Manager (FEM) adding a Code Module to an Event Action returns an Unable to load event handler class error.
Symptom
When adding a Code Module in FEM first, then trying to create an event action using the Code Module, the following error is returned:
Unable to load event handler class from either associated code module
or system classpath: <event handler class>.

Minor Error Code: 0x00000a94
However, adding a code module while creating the event action is successful.
Cause
The Code Module Document MIME type and Content Element MIME type must both be set correctly.

P8 CE 5.1
Resolving The Problem
If the Code Module document is added prior to creating the event action, the error occurs if the Document MIME Type does not match the Content Element MIME type. If the Document MIME type is set to application/java-byte-code or application/java-archive, the Content Element was have the MIME type set to application/java-byte-code or application/java-archive. When the Code Module document is added, there is a field to set the Document MIME Type. To set the Content Element MIME type, do the following:
- Select the check the box for the Content Element
- Click on the "Change MIME type" button
- Set the MIME type to match the Document MIME type setting
- The option to change the Content Element MIME type is also be available when checking in the Code Module document.
