Unable to install RTC plugins due to VSIXInstaller.exe error in Visual Studio

Troubleshooting


Problem

Attempts to use IBM Installation Manager to install IBM Rational Team Concert (RTC) plugins into Micrsoft Visual Studio Client results in CRIMAF37550BFE Error executing VSIXInstaller.

Symptom

From within Installation Manager, the following errors will be observed:

ERROR CRIMAF37550BFE 01:59.87 Error executing "c:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\VSIXInstaller.exe" operation (status=3001).
