Troubleshooting
Problem
The principal half map and export manifest complete with no errors. The import returns an error indicating an object reference does not exists at the destination.
Symptom
The following error is generated:
Unable to import objects with errors "ERROR [pool-1-thread-1]
filenet_error.api.com.filenet.apiimpl.imex.LoggingStream - The
following object cannot be imported because one of the objects it
references does not exist at the destination : objectName=Content
Services Comments, objectId={21784A3F-0CAA-42BF-8AB9-BB5B6740941F}, className=PropertyTemplateString,
classId={D32E4F63-AFB2-11D2-8BD6-00E0290F729A}, The requested item was
not found. propertyName=Permissions, referenced principal=cn=xxx,ou=yyy,ou=zzz,dc=xyz,dc=net
Cause
The security half map for the destination was incorrect
Environment
AIX servers
Source and destination servers: CPE 5.2.0.3
Diagnosing The Problem
When seeing these errors, use the following steps to troubleshoot/analyze:
1. Verify if the "requested item" exist in the source and target environments
2. Verify if the "Include property templates on classes" in the export include option was checked when doing the export manifest
3. Verify if the user (principal=cn=xxx,ou=yyy,ou=zzz,dc=xyz,dc=net) shown in the error message exists in both source and target environments
4. Verify if the security principals were mapping correctly. Review the DataMap_Principal.xml if the security contents look correct.
Resolving The Problem
If the DataMap_Principal.xml is not correct, both source and destination servers contain the same SID, shortname, and fullname. The security half map for the destination will need to be recreated as follows:
1. Start FDM > Destination environment
2. Right click on the Security Principal Data > Retrieve Data > select "From Content Engine's LDAP Provider" > Next
3. Click on Retrieve Realms for Select LDAP Realms
4. Select Filter "Use Environment's Principal Half Map" > select source environment > Finish
