IBM Support

Unable to disable the iTCO_wdt and iTCO_vendor_support modules on Linux RedHat 6.7, 7.2 and up

Troubleshooting

Problem

When preparing the environment to setup Tivoli System Automation (TSA) using the db2haicu utility you may be prevented by the loaded iTCO libraries.

Symptom

Even though you followed the prerequisites and updated the /etc/modprobe.conf file to put the iTCO libraries on the blocklist they are still loaded after reboot.
