Troubleshooting
Problem
FileNet Content Engine Deployment Manager throws, Unable to create a document with the specified version series id, errors when reimporting objects.
Symptom
When reimporting objects from one environment to another using FileNet Deployment Manager, the following errors are logged:
deployment.log
com.filenet.api.exception.EngineRuntimeException: E_NOT_UNIQUE: A uniqueness requirement has been violated. Unable to create a document with the specified version series id <VSID> because the VS id already exists.
p8_server_error.log
ENG FNRCE0283E - ERROR method name: preCreate A uniqueness requirement has been violated. Unable to create a document with the specified version series id <VSID> because the VS id already exists.
Where <VSID> is the version series ID of the object being imported.
Cause
During the export process, the version series ID and the relationship to containing folders were exported. Since the object was already imported once, this information already exists in the target environment.
Resolving The Problem
When exporting newer versions of objects to be later imported into the target environment using FileNet Deployment Manager, make sure the following options are unchecked during export:
- Include all document versions
- Include relationships to containing folders
- Include parent folders
If the objects have already been imported once, the above should already exist in the target environment. Exporting them again, generates errors during import reflecting their existence.
