Symptom

Server Extension for SAP R/3 UNIX rcprfcexec.sh exists in $EDI_ROOT/bin on the UNIX host. Note: rcprfcexec.sh script is a front end to the rfcexec remote function call; it is used when rcp is used to copy the file from the SAP host. rfcexec program contacts SAP to determine EDI trigger program defined in the logical port definition. Error Message Unable to connect error in RFC Connection Test screen when clicking Test Connection button on SM59 transaction in SAP. Trace file (dev_rfc): Error RFCIO_ERROR_SYSERROR in abrfcpic.c : 1462 CPIC-CALL: 'ThSAPECMINIT' Timeout during connection setup (please check partner availability) Cause: rfcexec executable is not in $EDI_ROOT/bin on the UNIX host.
