Problem

Unable to change the 676 error to a return code of 04. (SCI83202)

Symptom

Unable to change the 676 error to a return code of 04.
Received 613 and then a 676 error.
Error: 675 - EDI Input File is Empty
Changed Return Code 1 field in EDIM213, ( jump code 3 4.2.2 ) MESSAGE MAINTENANCE screen, to 04 for error 676 and still get a Return code of 08 in JCL Step that executes EBDI041.

Cause

Resolving The Problem

EBDI041 is working as designed. The issue is not related to the return-code values set for GT613 or GT676 errors. The mapper checks to see if any records were output. If not, and the highest return-code to that point is less than 08, the return-code is increased to 08. This indicates a potentially serious error (no data records were output). The only exception is when there are no records in the input file.



Note: Since there was an error before the 676 error, this shows that there was more than one file input to EBDI041 and the last file was empty.
