Troubleshooting
Problem
While booting up Cast Iron Hypervisor virtual machine, console shows 'Progress: This kernel requires an x86-64 CPU, but only detected an i686 CPU. Unable to boot - please use a kernel appropriate for your CPU.'
Cause
The physical CPU of the host machine must have Virtualization Technology(VT) support available and enabled.
Resolving The Problem
Make sure your physical CPU supports VT. For Intel CPU, refer to this
Intel site for the complete list of CPU's that supports VT.
Note that VT is turned off by default on some host machines. For an Intel CPU, make sure the “Intel(R) Virtualization Technology” or “Intel VT” is Enabled in the BIOS settings.
